Area Level leadership

Beyond the local Troop level of volunteers are Area and Regional leaders. The purpose of Area leadership is to provide support, direction, and encouragement for local Charter Organizations and their Troops. Area volunteers are the local go-to resource for all things Trail Life. The provide answers and updates from the Home Office via the Regional Team Leaders (RTLs). Area Teams are chaired by (and all members are apointed by) a Point Man; Point Men are apponted by, and overseen by their RTL.

The Direct Service Advisor (DSA) is your first point of contact with the Area Team. Any questions, assistance, or issues you have should be brought to your DSA's attention. If further help is needed, the DSA will engage the Area Point Man. Any situations that require additional resources will be escalated to the RTL for your region.

SPOC/SME

Your Area Team is the first link in the chain connecting your troop to the Home Office. In addition to assisting troops with questions/issues, your area team also provides support opportunities like Area Trail Gatherings, Troop health assessment tools, and other events as needed. In addition to support, your area team serves as the Freedom Award Service Project Advisors and the Point Man chairs each Freedom Awared Board of Review.

TRAINING

Training is an important part of being a leader of men. The Area Training Team hosts in-person 3 Peaks training, and recommends volunteers who which to become course instructors by attending Train the Trainer classes put on by the Regional Training Team

TRLC

Trail Ready Learners Conferences (TRLC) is where the iron sharpens the iron. TRLC's are mini-conferences put on by the Home Office and hosted by Areas. Speaking sessions by Home Office leaders are reinforced with breakout sessions put on by experienced leaders from around the area. Each TRLC is different so don't expect a "one and done" class.

AREA WIDE EVENTS

Interested in attending a Summer Adventure? Perhaps an inter-troop competition at a Trail Junction is more your thing. What about an organized shooting sports competition for the area troops. These are just a few examples of Area and Regional events that are planned and put on.
